Yo I've returned from the land that is exams.
I should probably never say 'yo' ever again, I apologise.
Did you have a nice day? I hope you did.
I'm not back properly, I still have two exams left but I have 10 days until those so I thought 'why not take break?' By break I meant maybe write a blog post. I've stuck to the whole 'only read books you've read before' thing, but I did buy True Fire by Gary Meehan so look out for that in the next month or so.
Here's a little anecdote from my biology unit one exam instead, enjoy.
Imagine the setting, school hall, about 100 teenagers sit at tiny desks scribbling furiously about t-cells, diffusion and ventricles. For all of my exams this year, I have been placed in the worst seat - directly at the back. This not only means that I can see everyone else writing and panicking, but due to my bad eyesight I cannot see the clock or the whiteboard that states when the exam ends. Yes I was wearing my glasses but someone with 20/20 vision wouldn't be able to see it either. This just adds extra pressure because I have to do maths to workout when the exam ends. I know, terrible. Anyway, I turn the page, I'm about 25 minutes in and I only have about 3 pages left so I decide, ever so casually, to slow down because I do not want to be left with 30 minutes with nothing to do except check answers. So I read this one question carefully and note down my answer - something about antibodies and what not. Then it's 9.35 and I have 35 minutes left and I have finished with my exam. Then, I do the thing I've been told to do since day one - I checked my answers. Here's where all the trouble appeared. I return back to the antibody question, and realise I read the question completely wrong *begin internal panic* so I quickly scribble out my first answer and write the correct one. You would think everything was fine after that. Yeah, me too.
I now have about 15 minutes left, I decide to check my answers again, no harm in that right? I arrive at the question I changed my answer for, and realise, that I, in fact, gave the correct answer the first time and misread the question the second time. If if it were appropriate, I would have slapped myself right then and there. I have never felt more annoyance towards myself.
As I had used all my space for the two answers before, I rewrite the first, and correct, answer in a tiny little space. I actually feel sympathy for the examiner who has to mark that question. Unless they skip that question and give me nil pois because they hate me for the mess. Looking back, I should have asked for more paper.
I should probably go back into the world of revision and tea.
Good bye :)

I almost joined a political party
Yeah you read that right. I am being deadly serious. I can't even vote yet and I almost joined a political party without knowing it.
I'll get back to that later, because I decided, seeing as I'm not really reading any new material and I an revising and what not for important exams, to take photographs of things I am doing to post on here because my brain thought that would be a cool and interesting thing to do. The only problem with this was that I may or may not have forgotten to take photographs for the majority of the week. Oops. So here are the photographs I did take this week, have fun.

Perfecting side plaits
Today. Saturday May 10th aka the day I remember I was supposed to be doing a photograph blog thing.

Saturday: Pancakes. Need I say more?
Bank Holiday Monday: Gardening and realising I do not like gardening very much.

Pretty much every week day: Walking to and from school.
Pretty much everyday: Revision and tea drinking
Perfecting side plaits
Wearing cool socks
Internet breaks and candles
Revision war wounds
Today. Saturday May 10th aka the day I remember I was supposed to be doing a photograph blog thing.
A little bit of shopping for birthday cards and what not
Stationary is important and exciting
Getting distracted by cute house hold items
Realising I need to leave quickly because I am getting distracted and need to go home and revise
Walking home and fearing rain
Feeling happy when I reach home because after walking for 30 minutes bags are getting heavy. Also it didn't rain!
Realisation that I have forgotten my keys and may have to wait three hours. Outside.
A woman comes onto the street posting things and I try to not look conspicuous whilst I am sat on the floor outside my house. It is very awkward.
The woman who is very friendly engages in conversation. Suddenly I am posting leaflets for her. It just got weird and I no longer know what is happening.
I return to my doorstep and the woman is no where to be seen. I have 10 spare leaflets.
I remember I bought Mentos
I also bought Dr Pepper zero and come to the conclusion it probably won't be the best thing to put in my body. I drink it anyway.
I take pictures of the trees across from my house
The leaflet woman returns for the spare sheets. She hands me toffee as a thank you and then tries to recruit me for a political party. I decline several times and she leaves wishing me good luck on my exams. I wish I was making this up.
I share this. Ignore spelling error I was confused and cold.
Saviour!
I am finally let into the house and I feel emotionally overwhelmed so drink tea to get over it. Also revision.
Remember I bought a new hoodie that is 2 sizes too because that's how fashion works and it is very comfy.
Then I write this blog post.
I hope you had fun learning about my political escapades and what not. Usually my Saturdays are not that interesting.
Tonight I will watch Eurovision (which I am excited for do not judge me) and enjoy the weirdness.
Until next time folks :)

All the revision is happening
There's not been a new book review/post/discussion in weeks and I am sorry. I've been a little busy. Why? Because it is May and May only brings one thing for students in the UK: Exams.
Yay.
So, I have been reading, just not any new books, I've been reading books I've already read. Such as the Missing series by Meg Cabot. Next it'll probably be The Mediator series. The way my brain works is that, I can still read books and revise as long as they aren't books that I haven't read before, because some how unread books will distract me from revision. I'm not quite sure I understand it myself either. So to keep up the whole 'at least two blog posts a month situation' here are some things I have realised whilst preparing from my exams.

- Reading notes is not good enough to learn/memorize something, especially key words in a language. (Spanish speaking)
- Writing down things = memorization (Spanish speaking)
- Panicking does no one any good (4 hours before my Spanish speaking on the 30th April)
- Breathing exercises such as this one actually work (2 hours before my Spanish speaking)
- If you relax and don't panic, things may actually work out well.
- Coloured pens are your best friend
- You can never have too many coloured pens
- Sticky notes are also your best friend
- You need all the paper
- You need all the black pens for those exams
- No matter how many times you learn and revise the absorption of glucose using a co-transporter you will probably never understand it.
- Music is a necessity for concentration
- Your neighbors may possibly hear you singing along to Taylor Swift at 6pm
- Unknown English texts from the 1800's that are about spoons will never be your best friend (English mock 1st May)
- When you take breaks from revising you will always feel guilty
- Baking is a good way to be productive whilst taking a break from revision
- You will never enjoy making butter cream icing
There probably won't be another "book specific" blog post until June, so until then it'll probably be "Megan writes things that comes to mind and hopes it makes sense" posts.
Until next time friends :)
Remember in my last post when I mentioned creating a Youtube channel? I took the first step: Oh_itsonlymegan youtube channel! Maybe I'll actually create videos, who knows?
